Reuben Genesis 49.3-4, from the series The Twelve Patriarchs.

According to the Book of Genesis, Reuben was the eldest son of Jacob with Leah. He was the founder of the Israelite Tribe of Reuben.

Genesis 49:3–4

3 “Reuben, you are my first born, my might, and the first fruits of my strength, preeminent in dignity and preeminent in power.

4 Unstable as water, you shall not have preeminence, because you awent up to your father’s bed; then you defiled it—he went up to my couch!
